Manila – PNOC RC continues to fortify its thrust to promote the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in government agencies as it executed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) for the installation of a 1.2MWp Solar Photovoltaic (PV) facility on its buildings at the PICC Complex last 15 August: It is by far PNOC RC’s largest solar rooftop project on government buildings to date.

The said project shall be implemented in three (3) phases, the first phase of which comprises the rooftops of the Reception, Secretariat and Delegation buildings. The installation of the second and third phases is expected to be done in other PICC buildings by 2018.

In his speech during the MOA signing, PICC’s General Manager Atty. Renato B. Padilla mentioned that the said cooperation is “PICC’s way of supporting the government’s renewable energy program which promotes the development, utilization and commercialization of clean and green energy technology. We are grateful for this mutually beneficial partnership with PNOC RC”. The actualization of this project shows that more government agencies now share the vision of a cleaner, greener environment. PNOC RC is hopeful that this milestone paves way for more collaboration with other agencies in the government sector in pursuing the use of renewable energy towards an energy-efficient, mother nature-loving industry.
