Taguig City – To ensure the people’s growing interest on the potentials of renewable energy development in the Philippines, the Philippine National Oil Company – Renewables Corporation organizes its first ever RE forum to invite more stakeholders and investors; and encourage leaning more on greening the energy industry.

Jose P. Gatmaitan, President and CEO of the company in his speech expressed his desire for the company to be part of the elite circle of industry leaders that will shape the RE industry of the future.

“PNOC RE is committed in shaping the future of the country… on the power requirements of the country; we will be part of this continuing quest for energy sustainability that will be appreciated not only by us but most importantly, the next generation…” said Pres. Gatmaitan.

The RE Forum likewise is the culminating activity of PNOC-RC’s 8th Anniversary as a subsidiary. Pres. Gatmaitan noted, that this simple event yearns to share the lessons and best practices in project  development and financing which the company have learned and experienced as it dealt with the RE sector in the last years.

The PNOC-RC in its years of existence have already spawned several successful initiatives and projects under its name such as the Rizal 1MW Hydro Power Plant, the Philippine Heart Center 100kW Solar PV Rooftop Project, and the DOST 100kW Solar PV Rooftop Project which was recently inaugurated in January 2016. The company have also inked several agreements with government institutions like the state university, UP Diliman and the DENR – Environmental Management Bureau.

As the company nears a decade of existence, there would be more to be expected and more aspirations to take on. The PNOC-RC would remain committed on its vision on being one of the leaders of RE in the Philippines.
