(Taguig City) PNOC Renewable Corporation leads the inauguration of the 1MW Hydropower plant in Rizal, Nueva Ecija.

As part of its commitment to promote the utilization of Renewable Energies in the country and empower the rural communities, this 1MW hydro facility is PNOC Renewable Corporation’s first Project in the province and would yield a better solution in augmenting the power supply in the area.

The facility is located in Barangay Poblacion West, Rizal, Nueva Ecija and a collaboration of the PNOC Renewables Corporation with the National Irrigation Authority and National Development Company. This achievement is just one of the many projects to harness hydropower through irrigation systems. The commissioning of the plant is scheduled before the year ends.

“This project is an effort to bring to the people the consciousness that power is an inevitable path to progress and that we can achieve it even in the simplest ways… through irrigation systems, we can bring out something better to our communities” said Carlos Jose Gatmaitan, President and CEO of PNOC Renewables Corporation.

He also added that this will just be the start of PNOC RC’s goal to promote and enhance the capacities of RE technologies in the country.

The PNOC Renewables Corporation is a government owned and controlled corporation mandated by the state to explore new possibilities in boosting the nation’s level of energy sufficiency through the utilization of renewable energy.
