The PNOC Renewables Corporation (PNOC RC) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the installation of a 100kW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Facility at the rooftop of the DOST Main Building, Science Heritage Building and other designated buildings at the DOST Complex, Bicutan, Taguig City.

The Solar PV Program of PNOC RC is in support of the current thrust of Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla of the Department of Energy (DOE) to promote the use of renewable, clean and green energy resources such as solar power.

The PNOC Renewables Corporation (PNOC RC) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the installation of a 100kW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Facility at the rooftop of the DOST Main Building, Science Heritage Building and other designated buildings at the DOST Complex, Bicutan, Taguig City. 

The Solar PV Program of PNOC RC is in support of the current thrust of Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla of the Department of Energy (DOE) to promote the use of renewable, clean and green energy resources such as solar power. 

As the DOE’s implementing arm for renewable energy, PNOC RC is set to install solar PV facilities in various government agencies within Metro Manila under a similar agreement. Under the MOA, the cooperation period between PNOC RC and DOST shall be fifteen (15) years. At the end of the cooperation period, the ownership of the solar panels shall be transferred to DOST.

The MOA was executed by Mr. Carlos Jose P. Gatmaitan, the President and CEO of PNOC RC, and DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo. The signing ceremony was witnessed by DOST Undersecretary Rowena Cristina L. Guevara and Atty. Gladys N. Nalda, PNOC RC Vice President for Corporate Services.

The signing ceremony held at the DOST Complex in Taguig City was likewise attended by DOE officials headed by Assistant Secretary Jose Raymund A. Acol and representatives from the DOE Renewable Energy Management Bureau (REMB).
