PNOC Renewables Corporation (PNOC RC) and Philippine Heart Center (PHC) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the installation of a 100kw Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Facility at the Medical Arts Building, Philippine Heart Center, East Avenue, Quezon City.

This project is in support of the current thrust of Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla of the Department of Energy (DOE) to promote the use of renewable, clean and green energy resources such as solar power.

PNOC Renewables Corporation (PNOC RC) and Philippine Heart Center (PHC) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the installation of a 100kw Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Facility at the Medical Arts Building, Philippine Heart Center, East Avenue, Quezon City.

This project is in support of the current thrust of Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla of the Department of Energy (DOE) to promote the use of renewable, clean and green energy resources such as solar power.

As the renewable energy arm of the Department of Energy (DOE), PNOC RC is set to replicate the MOA with other government agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Health (DOH) who has already signified their intention to enter into a similar agreement.

Under the MOA, the cooperation period between PNOC RC and PHC shall be a maximum period of 15 years. At the end of the cooperation period, the ownership of the solar panels shall be transferred to PHC.

The MOA was executed by Mr. Carlos Jose P. Gatmaitan, the President and CEO of PNOC RC and Dr. Manuel T. Chua Chiaco, Executive Director of PHC. The signing ceremony held in Makati City was attended by members of the PNOC RC Board of Directors, Engr. Pedro L. Lite Jr. (VP for Operations of PNOC RC) and Atty. Gladys N. Nalda (VP for Corporate Affairs). The ceremony was likewise attended by PHC executives Ms. Josephine Lopez, Dr. Gerardo Manzo, Engr. Ricardo Limpin and Engr. Dionisio Eoy.
