Project Description: |

|
The Nalatang B Hydropower Project is a run-of-the-river type of
hydropower development along Nalatang River. It will be located in
the Municipality of Kabayan, Benguet.
The project has a potential capacity of 45 MW and is estimated to
generate about 207.6 GWh of electricity per year.
The proposed project will be connected to the Luzon grid. Power
generated will be sold to the local electric cooperatives and
industries. This shall benefit households, institutions, commercial
and industrial consumers of CAR and the rest of Luzon. |

Project Status as of July 2011: |
|
|
|
The Engineering Development Corporation of the Philippines (EDCOP)
was awarded the contract for the conduct of feasibility study for
Nalatang B hydropower project. PNOC RC and EDCOP completed
preliminary meetings with concerned local government units to
explain the nature and operation of the project. They are also
currently undertaking the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP)
process of obtaining the Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) with
the indigenous people of the region. |
