The PNOC Renewables Corporation commemorated its 3rd anniversary last March 7-10, 2011. Highlighted in the weeklong event are the company’s efforts to fulfil its commitment to develop renewable energy resource in the country.
This included an audio-video presentation of PNOC RC’s on-going projects and future endeavours.
PNOC RC OIC-President & CEO Buendia says that this year’s theme of Renewable Energy: Towards a Zero Net Energy Nation captures the company’s goal of achieving energy efficiency and sustainability. This is also an assurance to the public that PNOC RC is taking actions to address the challenges on energy crisis in the country.
The event was participated by PNOC and its subsidiaries, such as PNOC Development and Management Corporation (PDMC), PNOC Shipping and Transport Corporation (PSTC) and PNOC Exploration Corporation (PNOC EC), representatives from Department of Energy, its partners and many more.
Also featured in the program was the launching of a photo-exhibit showcasing local talents in photography as they portray their perspective of a “Quality Life”, the main theme of the event. According to Senior Engineer Oscar Alvarez and main organizer of the exhibit, “the event’s theme basically narrows down the concept of quality living. It could mean racial harmony, the equality of the sexes, respect of one's belief, the promotion of local culture and accessibility to locally-produced food, goods and services”.
